"Then & Now"
from the 18th April to the 10th May 2015
Nearly 2 years on from her first solo exhibition Donna Lee has remained painting her favourite subject matter of animals, particularly cattle and horses, of which she is fast becoming known for.
She is a 'wet on wet' painter moving fast to finish each piece, which depending on size takes approximately 3-7days. She loves to use the play of dark against light and to really emphasize the colours she see's in the images she paints from.
Donna has won more awards, taking out the 'Horse's Year' Section in this year's Art Hawkes Bay Annual Exhibition. And in 2014 she won People's Choice Award for the National Art Exhibition ( Art-X) in Napier & the National Camellia Society Shows Painting Contest.
This current exhibition 'Then & Now', includes a mixture of nostalgic themes from yesteryears much loved television shows Rawhide and Bonanza and scene's painted from acquired images.
