Casey McLeay

Casey is a self-taught artist based in Napier. She has always drawn from a very young age and started painting in acrylics in her early teens. Casey meet local artist Sallie Dunford years later, who became a close friend and mentor. "I was lucky to meet Sallie, she has guided me through many challenges and has helped me develop as a fine artist".

Casey's passion comes from her love of Nature, growing up surrounded by the fauna and flora of New Zealand. "I always strive to bring the beauty of nature out in every detail, from the feathers on a Tui to the lichen on a branch". Over time Casey has developed her own style of painting, using an airbrush to create an out of focus background in her artwork so as to enhance the main subjects of the painting.

She has exhibited her artwork at the Rotary exhibition (Art x) and has painted many Mural artwork 's with fellow artist Sallie Dunford , now displayed all over the North Island.  Casey will continue to develop and improve her technique in order to capture the beauty of Nature.
