Jacky Pearson

Jacky was born in 1958 in the UK and moved to New Zealand in 1991.  Jacky has painted and drawn all her life but initially followed a career in environmental conservation.  After attending workshops with many of the world's top watercolour artists Jacky  now paints full time.  She exhibits regularly including a solos exhibition which included 40 paintings representing the complete series of all New Zealand's classical coastal lighthouses.  These were the originals from her series of the three Lighthouses of New Zealand calendars (2000, 2001, 2003).  She is currently writing a book and preparing a DVD of her work.

Jacky is a member of Watercolour New Zealand and has represented New Zealand at the 2006/7 iinternational Biennial Watercolour exhibition / competition and was subsequently selected to representNew Zealand in their permanent collection at the International Museum of Watercolours in Mexico.  Jacky has won numerous awards including the 2009 and 2010 Raye Hannan Memorial Trophy for Best Watercolour in all categories at the Royal Easter Show in Auckland.  In 2010 Jacky also won the Gold Medal for Most Successful Artist at the Royal Easter show.  Her work features in a book "NZ in Watercolour" and she has been selected for the 2010 North American watercolour book "Splash 11".
